Springing up in and around Central is the trendy café. Some are a flash in the pan, but pop bites (capital letters are old hat apparently), up the steep Old Bailey Street is here to stay – we hope. Simple food and a great stock of wine is a recipe for success. Sandwiches aren’t cheap but they are some of the freshest and best you’ll find this side of Paris.
Not to mention the cake – slices are generous to say the least. Come to relax in the calming, white interior, or just to gawp at the mass of flat screen televisions on the wall. Stylish and chic with none of Central’s usual pomp.
