Smith St’s Kent St (have you wrapped your brain around that one?) is one of those modest bars that you glance at as you walk past before doubling back to take another squiz. It just looks so very cosy inside. The bar itself sits at the top of a small flight of stairs overlooking the front seating area, which spills onto the street outside.
The décor here could be described as ‘retro ramshackle’, giving Kent St a snug, casual vibe; it’s one of those homely places in which you could easily ensconce yourself for an entire day. That scenario is, in fact, possible, as Kent St operates as a café during the daytime. So pack a good book or a willing friend and head to Kent St to choose your caffeinated or alcoholic poison – both choices are good value here.
