One of the newest developments to hit the Melbourne bar scene is the takeover of The Order of Melbourne by the owners of two of the city’s most successful bars: Madame Brussells and Gin Palace. The cavernous bar space at The Order includes a stage, which hosts regular live music gigs with a focus on jazz. Upstairs, a small rooftop bar features nice views of the surrounding city (open until 10pm nightly).
The new owners are aiming for a vibe that combines the bubbly fun of Madame Brussells with the old-school class and personalised service of Gin Palace, and the drinks list focuses on cocktails. The Order is open until 11pm from Sunday to Wednesday, until 1am on Thursdays and Fridays, and until 3am on Saturdays. Tip: Make sure arrive ready for a workout. The Order is four flights up.
