Monarch Cakes

Monarch Cakes A visit to St. Kilda isn’t complete without a stop at Monarch Cakes. An icon on Acland Street, many of the recipes were brought over with the original Jewish Polish family at its inception in 1934. Traditional European cheesecake, plum cake, and kugelhouph amongst other delectable doughy delights are at your fingertips at this family run cake shop.

You’ll feel the kitche without the effort because the shop hasn’t changed but only been added to throughout the years. The surroundings are a comfortable mishmash of unmatched tables and chairs, heaps of magazines, and photos on the walls of the St. Kilda footy team and friends and family. Soak in local history with a piece of cake.
