Tom Phat

Tom Phat A favourite among locals, Sydney Rd’s Tom Phat is a funky little café/restaurant loved for its good coffee, big breakfasts and yummy Asian-fusion menu. The restaurant is long and thin, with tables concentrated in the front of the venue then continuing along the right-hand wall, with the kitchen on the left. The décor is lovely and inviting – shiny wooden tables, woven straw ceiling and a Chinese-style painting on one wall.

There’s also some low seating and a coffee table by the front window – the ideal place for a nibble and a casual drink. Breakfasts here cost $5–$15, lunch is from $9 to $15, and dinner mains are from $15–$21. You can BYO to Tom Phat, but there’s a hefty $6 corkage charge. Open Wednesday through Sunday.
