If you’re in need of some cheap second-hand clothing, head up to Savers on Sydney Rd. This mammoth ‘Recycle Superstore’ is the hang-out of many Melbourne fashionistas thanks to its sheer size. Rows upon rows of clothing, dozens of racks of shoes, books, toys, furniture, jewellery – it’s all here, and there are plenty of bargains to be had. The store is open every day of the week until 6pm except on Thursdays (when it closes at 9pm) and Sunday (5pm).
Tip: A common myth about Savers is that it’s a charity. It isn’t. Savers buys its wares from local charities, thereby supporting them, but it is itself a for-profit company, so don’t go giving them all your spare change.
